Episode 1 / Art & AI Portrait of Miikka Heinonen

Miikka Heinonen

Photographer. Born on 6 August 1969 in Turku, Finland, I have lived and worked in Luxembourg since 1996. Education: 1996 Master’s in Education, specialising in Fine Arts and Art History, Université de Turku; 1994 St. David’s University College, Lampeter, United Kingdom.

With the series presented here, I wanted to explore the idea of a physical place as a construction of a collective experience or memory.

I used multiple overlapping exposures from different viewpoints, with the idea that each of these layers represents an individual memory or experience of a particular place. In this case, the place is more of an industrial object with a special significance for Luxembourgers. The idea is that each person experiences and remembers a specific place slightly differently or sees it from a different angle. From these experiences and memories, a unique monument emerges – concrete and physical but intangible and ephemeral at the same time. Very much like the way our own memories or dreams tend to be.

Episode 1 / Art & AI Portrait of Misch Strotz

Misch Strotz

A Luxembourgish engineer and entrepreneur specialising in new media technologies.

As co-founder and CEO of LetzAI – a social artificial intelligence platform that allows people, brands and artists to generate images of anything and anyone – Misch has a deep enthusiasm for new forms of art. « I am taking part in this exhibition as a technology entrepreneur with a passion for emerging technologies.

My aim is to help break down the barriers between technology and creativity, and I am convinced that innovation is one of the most prestigious artistic languages of our time. I am not an artist myself, but I strive to build the foundations on which tomorrow’s artists can express themselves. I hope my work will inspire others to explore new tools and adopt a more multidisciplinary approach to their creative practice. »
