Bodo Korsig – Artist Residency

Bodo Korsig is an artist working primarily with spatial installations, sculpture and video. For more than twenty-five years, he has explored human behaviour in extreme situations such as fear, pressure or confrontation with death. His work connects art and neuroscience, developing a distinctive visual language around the brain, perception and the construction of reality. His works are exhibited internationally and held in numerous museum collections.

During his residency at Spektrum, he will develop the immersive virtual reality installation Surviving & Shattering Dreams. In Surviving, visitors enter an abstract brain structure, where their movements transform a synaptic landscape of light, fractals and sound in real time.

Shattering Dreams places the audience in an unstable virtual space, where proximity, gaze and gesture trigger an intensification of visuals and sound. The installation examines fear as a perceptual experience and a feedback system between body, space and consciousness.

The project continues his research into psychological limits and the transformation of neurobiological models into immersive experiences.

Anyone interested can meet the artist at Spektrum, observe the development of his immersive installation and discuss his research into perception and fear. The residencies offer direct access to the artistic process and a chance to discover ongoing experiments.
