François Schwamborn – Artist Residency
François Schwamborn is a media artist based in Saarbrücken. He works at the intersection of light, video and sound, developing audiovisual installations that connect real-time visual processes, physical space and algorithmic aesthetics. His work explores the tensions between technological structure and sensory perception.
During his residency at Spektrum, he will focus on exploring the architectural and natural surroundings of the site in Rumelange. Using photogrammetry, he will capture urban structures, rock formations and plant life to transform them into detailed digital models.
These high-resolution scans will form the basis for complex particle simulations. Real surfaces, sediments and architectural fragments will be translated into dynamic systems, where documentation and abstraction meet. The project seeks to connect geological time, industrial memory and digital movement, opening up new perspectives on space and transformation.
The public is invited to discover the ongoing process of digitisation and transformation and to discuss the artist’s research with him. Residencies at Spektrum offer privileged access to work in progress.
